Artysta uczestniczył w inauguracji Europejskiej Stolicy Kultury Umeå obok innych uznanych artystów, jak Mirosław Bałka, Carolina Alexandra Falkholt czy Dan Lestander.
Four doors leading to the interior of the dome are temporarily blocked by huge blocks of ice. Steel walls and locked doors, do not permit the viewer to get inside. We look forward to warmer days when the weather is slowly will help to melt the ice. But until then we have to be patient, continue in anticipation around the inaccessible home, which become frozen inside and now we can only wait and hope to enter in again. The more that Square Dome will act as a thermos, significantly delaying the process of melting ice. From the interior of the building, the amplified sounds of melting ice, dripping drops swapping into metallic sound will be coming to us. The monotonous sound helps get into the cool, quiet atmosphere of the place, blurred shapes undiscovered interior, penetrate through the translucent surface of the ice door. Mysterious, intriguing emptiness works on our imagination, becoming the subject of contemplation of this place. The Square Dome may remind us of a function of safe food storage, but it can also be a place for keeping - hibernating memories of the past events. The synergy of the public intervention will depend on ourselves and our commitment to "nothing" but waiting in the anticipation, observation time. Almost like contemporary characters of Waiting for Godot, we are hypnotized, we want to go, but do not move from the spot. Curator: Dan Lestander.
